New England Heart Institute
Catholic Medical Center is home to the nationally recognized New England Heart Institute, which provides a full-range of cardiac services and is a pioneer in offering innovative surgical procedures. As one of the largest cardiac hospitals north of Boston, CMC has performed more than 60,000 invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures.

• Since inception in 1986, Catholic Medical Center has performed more than 16,000 cardiac surgeries at the New England Heart Institute.
• In 1998, Catholic Medical Center was the first hospital in northern New England to perform beating heart surgery.

Bedford Ambulatory Surgical Center
The Bedford Ambulatory Surgical Center (BASC) opened in 1993 and has performed more than 30,000 procedures. BASC currently performs outpatient surgery in the specialties of ENT, general, plastic, gastrointestinal, podiatric and orthopedic surgery. We have over 100 surgeons who choose to perform procedures at the Bedford facility.
