Based on Watson’s Theory of human caring, we believe caring is the essence of nursing practice. It is a moral ideal rather than a task-oriented behavior. Human caring involves values, a will, commitment, knowledge, caring actions, and consequences. The goal of caring is the preservation of human dignity and humanity in the health care system. Professional nursing care is developed through a combined study of the sciences and the humanities. We believe that research is an integral aspect of current nursing practice and support nurses in reviewing the nursing research literature and in developing, implementing and evaluating projects involving nursing research. We support innovation in nursing practice based on relevant research findings.
We believe it is the responsibility of the nursing staff to act as an advocate for the patient. We seek input from patients and families regarding their care experience which provides information.
At Catholic Medical Center, we’re proud to offer the highest quality in care. We’re proud of the strength of our clinical nurses, their compassion, the overwhelming support they offer CMC, and its patients, friends and families. CMC’s nurses combine caring with compassion. They combine devotion with advocacy. On behalf of everyone at Catholic Medical Center, we want to extend gratitude and thanks to every nurse at CMC.
