"It is with great pleasure I welcome you to the Catholic Medical Center community. At CMC, our mission is more than words on paper; they are the spirit by which we conduct our care. Everyone these days has a choice in where to receive their health care. It is my hope you choose CMC."
Alyson Pitman Giles, FACHE, President and CEO
Message from the President
This past July, Catholic Medical Center and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Manchester announced the details of our proposed affiliation by filing a definitive agreement with the NH Attorney General and Director of Charitable Trusts. Open communication about our vision and goals remains a consistent priority.
Our vision for healthcare in our community is built on a few fundamentals. First, this is not a merger; Catholic Medical Center will remain Catholic with its pro-life identity. Dartmouth-Hitchcock Manchester will remain a multi-specialty physician group providing care with ties to a world class academic medical center. Together, our organizations share a common vision and deep commitment to expand access to care - including specialty and sub-specialty care - to local communities where there is an unmet need, particularly to the poor and under-insured.
Over the last five years, our organizations have successfully collaborated on several new programs which would be difficult or impossible to do alone. Today, cancer patients benefit from specialists practicing at the Norris Cotton Cancer Center located on the CMC campus. Specialists in cancer care come from Lebanon on a daily or weekly basis to see and develop treatment plans for patients in the Manchester, the greatest population area of our state. Underserved or underserved expecting mothers, newborns and people of all ages have a medical home at the West Side Neighborhood Health Center. Our two organizations are premiere providers for the care of the poor in our city. Specialists such as endocrinologists, rheumatologists, pediatric neurologist and intensivists now provide cutting edge care on our campus. The hospitalist program has doubled in size since the management was taken over by Dartmouth-Hitchcock two years ago. Dartmouth-Hitchcock Clinic also benefits from world class cardiologists from the New England Heart Institute providing care for all of their patients in Manchester.
As a Catholic hospital, we are committed to doing what is right for the patients who seek our care and working closely with the Diocese and Bishop of Manchester to ensure we are true to our Catholic identity and heritage. We’re proud to live our mission everyday bringing health, healing and hope to all.
